Paphos in western Cyprus is known for its rich history and culture, and is a popular tourist destination. Believed to be the birthplace of Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love and beauty. It has been inhabited since the Neolithic period, and was the capital and main cultural city of Cyprus during Roman times. Home to many archaeological sites including the Tombs of the Kings which is a large burial ground of catacombs and vaults dating back to the third century BC. We chose to revisit Paphos 25 Years after having our honeymoon there and loved it so much we ended up visiting twice this year, staying in the Alexander The Great Hotel. A luxurious, long-established hotel directly overlooking the golden sands of a Blue Flag beach and within easy walking distance of the harbour, shops and Restaurant's. This pocket of paradise blends sophisticated accommodation, leisure facilities and gastronomy. Photos below show Paphos in all it's glory. In fact we love it so much we've booked again for 2025 !
